Vadrafjord Waterford Hospice Run 2018
Crowds gathered at The Reg for registration for the Vadrafjord Waterford Hospice Run 2018 starting beside the Tower Hotel. The route took runners and walkers out the Cork Road and left up the Folly and up to Ardkeen before a nice downhill stretch along the Dunmore Road to the finish line beside the Tower Hotel. All funds raised on the day go to the Waterford Hospice Movement.
City Square Shopping Centre are delighted to be part of this great event and as indicated the centre manager Denis Carroll “it’s great to be involved as it’s a great cause and Waterford Hospice do such amazing work, much of which people may not even know about. I hope everyone had a great time and lets hope the event goes from strength to strength”
Four staff members from stores in City Square lined out on the day for the Vadrafjord run. Elaine Keating, Clionadh Morrissey, Brian Kelly & Dean Walsh all ran their hearts out and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Vadrafjord Results
The first man home was Trevor Swift in 27’34’’ while the first lady to cross the line was Ruth Fitzgerald in 29’ 03’’.
The first three home in the Mens Vadrafjord 5 Mile Run were 1st Trevor Swift, SRR, 2nd Adam Porter, Waterford AC and 3nd Jason Travers, West Waterford AC. While in the ladies race, the first three home in the Vadrafjord 5 Mile Run were 1st Ruth Fitzgerald, Waterford AC, 2nd Kate Veale, West Waterford AC and 3rd Clare Sherman.
